New from Sunny South Florida (111, 30-06)

Picked up a savage 111 in 30-06 a while ago when Bass Pro was running a huge sale (something like $350). put 20 rounds down range and never really got around to shooting it again (got into the AR scene). Started reloading recently and thought how nice it would be to reload for 30-06 as it's already inherently very accurate (too bad brass is so hard to come by). looking forward to learning a bit from this forum... i'll post some photos later. No real upgrades except a Warne 0 MOA rail and Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 with Butler Creek caps. non accutrigger non accustock model.

Welcome to the site. I suggest you become a paid member. Only paid members have access to the classifieds. I have saved the $15 a year many times over using the classifieds here. There are currently a couple of guys selling brass right now.

    Welcome.
Load for the 30-06 huh.... Try some IMR4350 with a CCIBR2 primer and 165gr Sierra Game King HPBT.
Always been a stunning combination for me.

50 grains of IMR4064 under a 165gr Sierra ProHunter is my go to load for the 30/'06. We use that load in 3 different rifles. All shoot sub-MOA with that load.
