Just found this forum. I've been shooting since I was 5 in one form or another. Started hunting with my Dad when I was 5. Rabbits mostly, but we ate what we shot. Joined the Army when I was 18, went to jump school and spent 23 years as a paratrooper. Spent 3 1/2 years in Nam with the 173d Airborne Brigade (Sep). Retired in 1988 and haven't worked a day since. I fly fish a lot, for trout, salmon and steelhead. I shoot a lot, thanks to being a reloader.
My newest Savage is a Model 10 FCP-SR in .308, the LE Version, not the pretty camo version. I replaced the factory bottom metal with the Accumag bottom metal. I like it much better. Currently it's wearing a Vortex Viper 6.5-25 X 50 scope set in Vortex rings and a Harris bipod. I'm pretty happy with the way the gun shoots except the stock seems to be a little...easy to twist. That will be remedied with a B&C stock.
Look forward to hearing about others guns and experiences with them.
