    fixing to pull trigger


    Ok ive been looking a bit thinking im gonna top hog hunter with vortex dimond back 4-12×40.
    Looks like the scope base and rings all gonna cost neighborhood of 400 bones
    Is this a good set up hunting target for 300 or less yards?

    Yes, you'll do fine with that setup, depending on your capability you should be able to stretch it out to 600 or so. Optics will be your limiting factor.

    Unless you have very bad eyes, it won't take anything like that much scope, or money for that distance. I shoot to a mile with a 3-15, and a 4-14X.
    I used to be a big Leupold guy. Now I'm solid on Primary Arms 4-14X FFP, mil/mil scopes.
    I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

    I looked for that very scope but sold out everywhere even back ordered at primary arms website

    And did you see that they are due in stock, within about a week...?
