    Cheek piece on Accustock?

Anybody added a cheekpiece (adjustable or fixed) to their accustock and have pics to share?

I would love to have an excuse to order the McMillan I have had my eyes on, but budget is winning this year.

I think main thing I need to do to my current stock is play with adding a cheekpiece to help with eye alignment to my scope. I am not consistent right now, but shooting well.

    Hi,
My Savage 111 Long Range Hunter has a Accustock with adjustable cheek piece from the factory, it works well. I can post a pic or it may be easier to just go to the Savage web site and look at the 111 LRH if you are interested.
    Regards

Trapper458 - I've seen the long range hunter with the adjustable cheek rest. That's kind of what I am thinking.

Looking for folks that may have added something similar to their rifles and how it worked for them. There are several different aftermarket options out there. Maybe folks have experiences they can share?

I am going to start with closed cell foam, self stick wound wrap, and moleskin either way but may look to make it more "professional" if it does in fact help my shooting.

My extra cheap ghetto cheekrest. $5 delrin sheet, $5 for the two knobs, and a buck for stainless carriage bolts. It's ugly and not adjustable but fits me perfectly and has taken a ton of abuse in the woods and range.

Any chance you can share pics? Which cheek rest did you get from them? Sounds pretty clean.

if there is another angle lmk I can get later when I am home this is just what I have in my PB account

and as for which rest it is from XLR it was the cheapest one as I was not sure at the time if it would work. I ALSO took the time and used a powder funnel and added sand INTO the butt stock area to add weight since it is NOT a hunting rifle. as she sits in this pic she is 13.2lbs with factory 700p stock (full aluminum bedded), and heavy varmit barrel and my add ons

one thing you don't see in this is the rest has a "padding" on the top and is VERY comfy clean shaven or bearded.

@danielFL - thanks for the pics. Very nicely executed! How low do you think you could take it? I may not need much height given I am only shooting a 42mm obj scope.

I will definitely not be filling my stock with added weight as it is a hunting rifle and I am taking it elk hunting in the wilderness of CO this fall. Smart ounces only as they all count!

It really didnot take that long maybe 30 mins of shimming under/foward/back to get exact spot. I had to use duct tape balls and egg crate foam (easiest thing i had that was easy to use as shimm)
