Chadster this could start the debate of the year.
Some think the 25-06 is what the 30-06 was meant to be or should have been,and I don't have a 270 but have heard an awful lot of arguments for and against it so I beg out of this one.
Can anyone please tell me why Savage would offer the new long range hunter in 25-06' and not .270 or 30-06???

It probably boils down to sales, the 25-06 is no better long range than either of the other two. Just the 25-06 is popular now in the "Long Range Shooting" Arena. Along with the other caliber's the gun is avaliable in. The Savage Custom Shop will build you one in either of the other calibers.
