    My new used 110E

I saw what I hope was a good deal on a 110E and decided to purchase it. So now I have some questions.

    1. I paid $250. It has a wood stock, no rust and looks clean. Is that a good price?

    2. I want to get a decent scope that wont break the bank (less than $200). This will be a combo hunting/target rifle. Any suggestions?

    3. It has 2 piece weaver style mounts, are the 1 piece a better option?

    Thanks

I can't offer an opinion on the purchase price but I will say that you may want to increase your glass budget to around $300.00. I have a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40 BDC I like for around $300.00, but there are other as well. Also I would say that if your rifle is a long action then "Yes" get a one piece mount, Weaver and EGW both offer a one piece mount. The one piece mount allows you to move the scope closer to the eye. EGW is taller and offer more room (needed for top loading rifles) than the Weaver but cost more, also the EGW requires low scope rings.
    At least that's my experience.

I'd say you did quite well. $300 would have been good, in my opinion.

I agree with olddav, you also might look at DNZ Game Reaper (one piece base and rings combo).

Midway usually has a nice Weaver 3-10 mil/mil tactical for around $250. It's an exclusive to Midway. It's a decent all around hunting/tactical/target scope. About the cheapest I would go, for sure.

I picked up a Redfield Revenge 3-9x42mm. Hopefully this isn't a bad scope. It had good reviews. Anyone use this? If you do what mount ring combo for top load are you using.

    Thanks for the input

I find redfield to be a good scope for the buck. I have revenge 6-18x44 and no complaints. What caliber is your 110e?

Then I'm glad I got it. It's a 30-06. What rings and mount did you use?

I have two piece weaver base and a set of medium kwik-site rings. Not the top line stuff but does the job none the less. I couldn't find miller rings at the time

Mine already has the 2 piece mounts. Were your rings low, medium or high?

My rings are medium. That's the lowest I can go without touching the barrel
