Is it better to sell a Savage rifle as a whole or part out?

My safe is getting full and I have other ideas I want to try.

I have a couple of builds alrady that I really like, but it is getting a bit out of hand...

I know a lot of you guys have been faced with this same dilemna before.

IF I do decide to sell one, is it better to try and sell the rifle as I set it up (aftermarket trigger, stock, recoil lug etc.) or just part it out or build a stock rifle and sell the extra parts?

More hassle parting it out but I've found you almost always make more money that way.

Kinda the same reason you see 2008 and 2009 dirt bikes being parted out.

I'm afraid you're over looking the most obvious, and easiest solution...

    JUST GET A BIGGER SAFE!

    Problem solved.

    You're welcome.

    Moving on...

I agree with Slim... I have the problem of the safe being full and wanting to do more builds, but have never thought of it as being out of hand..

Most of the time it is easier and quicker selling the stuff seperately, just cause someone is always looking for parts to start or finish their build, but the complete rifle would have to be close to or exactly what they wanted. Unless of course it is priced very reasonable.

The best way would be to start out selling whole, and list a price for the complete package AND prices for the seperate parts for if/when you decide to part it out. I will usually part if out if the action sells first, since it has to go thru an ffl.

Figure out how much you want to get for everything. Be sure to allow for all the shipping charges whichever way you sell it. They shipping charges will be more if you part it out, so you'd have to mark the prices up a little to cover it so you end up satisfied in the end.

Hurry up and list it will you!!! Ive been gone for over a week and need to know what you're selling. Im starting to shake from "classifieds withdrawal syndrome"..LOL

I wonder if he's left handed?

Right now, there's a dozen guys staking out the classified section with their finger on the "I'll take it" hot key.....

My experience is if it is a factory rifle it is better to sell it whole, but if it has been customized it is better to part it out.
