Have to engage saftey between shots

I have a new savage 10. After every shot I have to lift the bolt handle put the wepon on "full" safe , then work the action the rest of the way in order for the accutrigger to reset and load the next round. If I don't the trigger locks up. Is this normal? Either way how can I fix this so I can get quick follow up shots.

Turn up the pull weight, classic savage half-drop. QC on cheap parts still stinks.
