    Savage 110 E-H

I picked up an older 110 E-H in .308 and am having a 24" Shilen barrel made for it that is a little heavier than the stock barrel of 20". I am wanting to put a new stock on it as well. Are there any stocks out there that I can drop this into or will I have to fit it?

Also, how do I tell if it is a long action or short action. It has a hidden magazine.

Action spacing is the tell. Another way to do it is looking at the magazine box. If the 308 cartridge fills the magazine it is a short action. If there is a metal "Block" at the back it is either a long action, or the dreaded mid-action. What is the spacing between your action bolts?
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
