What is the gun for? What is your budget? What is the new scope size? What conditions is the gun used in?

No budget on rings and mount......scope hasn't been bought yet but probably a 4-12 x 40 something in the $300-400 range.

Used primary for hunting inside 300yrds

If you are staying inside 300 yards what is wrong with the rings that came on it?

Read some reviews where they mentioned they were not the best and would constantly loosen losing zero

Looks like a vortex scope in the 4-12'or 4-16..... One is 1 inch and one is 30mm but both are 50mm...I assume I need medium or high rings?

Burris signature Z rings. Self aligning and they won't mar your scope. I have them on everything but a couple of benchrest rifles with Kelby rings.

I have weaver tactical mediums, my 50mm scope barely clears but its a 17 hmr so I dont worry about the barrel hitting the scope, dont know how much barrel flex a .243 has. I like the weaver tacticals because they are super solid and have 6 hex screw per ring. If budget isnt an issue and you want state of the art Id say get a Larue lever action single piece setup.
