    New to me Savage question

    New person here.

Well I happened to stumble across an interesting Savage rifle and it followed me home.

It appears to be a 16FHSS, however it is chambered in 260 Rem with a 24" barrel with a 1:8 twist, sporter contour type barrel.

According to the shop owner where I bought it, it is a factory custom that someone ordered and then decided they wanted something else.

The markings on the barrel appear to be put on by Savage at the factory.

It has the new accu-stock and accu trigger.

    Does all this sound reasonable.

I know from firing a few shots that I need to make the trigger a scooch heavier pull or it will drive me crazy.

I have not had a chance to work up any loads for it, I did get dies brass and some bullets but time has been scarce.

It's a custom shop rifle, but it should be a standard production gun.

Too late I just built one, would hate to see it as factory produced now.
