If you are shooting out to 800m you are going to get the itch and try 1k so play it safe and buy once, buy the 20moa. Your scope has plenty of adjustment in it but why use it all.
I have a Savage stevens 7.08 rifle, with LW heavy stainlass barrel 1:9 twist. I have bought a SWFA SS 10x42 Tactical Riflescope.
I will use this rifle for 10" steel target shooting at 300 - 800 meters.
I need to choose a scope base. Do I buy a 0 MOA or a 20 Moa base ?
I dont understand the full concept of this yet, so please bear with me.

I just found this sight. I have ordered a Model 10 FP-K .308 for my son & I am thinking of mounting a older burris target scope on it. Would you also recommend an 20 MOA base for this set up. We are bgame hunters and will take shots at 300 plus yards.
under 300yds, you may not have enough internal adj to get the scope back down enough. do you have time to adj the scope after you spot your target from 200yds to 400yds or are you just estimating anyway? Ballistic plex retical may be a better thought.
