    what model is this

I'm looking at purchasing a rifle but the info from the guy is not to informative. He said its a model 10 bull barrel 308. He said they called it the police sniper model. The barrel measures 23" from action to muzzle. From my research I haven't found anything that has bull barrel and iron sights other then a hog hunter but this rifle has no threaded muzzle. Here are the pictures he sent me.

    Scout version?

    It looks like this,

But someone has changes the rail and rear sight. Maybe it is an older version.

It's definetly an older model. The flat rear action designates it a 4.27 SF action.
I can't tell you much about the iron sights other than they generally can be removed fairly easy.

That's what they called the "Cruiser" model.

If you have the serial number, run it through the Savage Parts Finder. It will tell you exactly what model it is.
