Found a STEVENS 110e Series K rifle for $299. Anyone have one of these? Info?

Says Stevens 110e Series K on the barrel.

    Iron sights.

Wood stock with raised comb on it.

Seems like a solid, older rifle.

Anyone own one? Are they a good deal? Are parts still available for them?

Small nicks and scratches in stock. Some faded blueing. Bolt handle has turned purple. No rust.

I should also add that it is in 30-06. I wish more bolt actions were made with iron sights.

Parts are available and should be the same as the Savage 110.

Of course it depends on the year they were made as well. Can you find a date code on it anywhere? They weren't catalogued with the Savage 110's, just a sub-species, lol.

The date code will be a small oval with a number and a letter stamped inside of it, it's very small and might be hard to read.

There is a "54" circled at the front of the barrel near the receiver. Is that 1954?

    The 110 was 1st made in 1959.
$299 is too much. I've bought model 200s new for less than that.
The stock may be aftermarket. I've not seen a Stevens stock with raised comb.

    Sure that's not a 5A?

There needs to be a letter with the number.

It could have been an "A". It was a light stamp.

After further thought it can't be an A, that would mean it was a 49 and they didn't make the 110 till late 57.

Does it have a serial number, should be an A series rifle.
