Welcome aboard
I am an old dude from western montana who has hunted throughout montana and idaho for 62 years starting at the age of 12. I started reloading in 1968 for 338 win mag., 22-250, and .44 mag. In the late 90's i read my first varmint hunter magazine and started spending money on rifles. Then came pistols, redding dies, etc. I have 6 savage rifles and they are all shooters. I don't have the 338 lapua mag dialed in yet but that will happen this summer i hope. 223 112 bvss, 22-250ai 12 bvss, 204, 6br lrpv, 223 lrpv, and 338 lapua are my savage rifles. I would like to put a 6.5x284 barrel on the 6 br which is why i joined this forum. Hopefully i can learn the process in which to accomplish this desire from the savage gentleman on the savage shooters site. Love to hunt varmints and predators. Also still shooting a longbow.

Welcome, there is lots of imfo on here and if you decide to become a paid member you will be able to use the classifieds and barrels are always for sale. To change a barrel my suggestion is to call 1-763-682-4296 and talk with Jim. He has all the tools to do it and they are priced cheap compared to brownells. He also sells pre fits and recievers etc.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
