EGW Rail on Savage 10 FP, again what rings? Scope question.

The reason I'm asking again, because I sold my Monarch nikoplex scope, and here is again I can't decide.
I have 2 options.
To get a
Nikon Monarch 5-20X44 BDC or Vortex Viper 6.5-20X44 BDC or MIL-dot ???

The Nikon is 40 MOA the Viper is 68 MOA. I already have a EGW Savage RB (Round Back) Picatinny Tactical Rail Scope Mount.
I don't know what rings I need because if I will go with a Viper (most likely) than I need a 30mm rings. What I found here :

My question is If I will go with Viper , what type of rings I need ? LOW, Medium or High?
Or other brand? Please help me , I would like to order today!
If I will get a Nikon Monarch , I already have a Burris Zee Signature 1" Rifle Scope Mount Rings for Weaver Style bases for it.


Soooo, Viper, or Monarch....BDC or Mil-DOT. And what rings??

I would go with mil-dot over bdc. Mils are mils, BDC......BDC for what load? I would also go with these rings....http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=148716 they make them for 1" scopes also.

Edit- I see that the Vortex BDC is MOA based, it seems confusing to me though with odd demarcations. 1.5moa, 4.5moa,7.5moa...

I am not sure if low extreme rings will be high enough. Maybe but it will be really tight.
They are 1/4" high.

The outer diameter of that bell is 51mm so the chart sez you need a .3" for that
scope and that would be a medium ring which is 1/2" high

When I called a Vortex dealer he said use a : Vortex Tactical 30mm (HIGH)

The Vortex Tactical 30mm High rifle scope ring mounts on Picatinny or Weaver type rails—positioning the rifle scope 1.18 inches (30mm) from base to center.


But , I don't find anybody on the forums to use this ring. Specially high!

I would use the Xtr burris low if I could get away with it and absolutely no higher than the XTR mediums.

The EGW mount is higher than most so if you need high rings for your scope buy the med or you will be to high.
