Axis barrel for model 10?

I want to rebarrel my model 10 and have the opportunity to purchase a new take off axis barrel. I have searched to see if the barrel thread pitch is the same. I have found contradicting information through out the web. Will the axis barrel work on a standard savage action? If I missed the thread could someone post it so I can read more about this topic.
