0fps, it just sits on the bench :)

Have only 30 rounds downrange as of this morning. Would expect the following

    105gr ~ 2200fps

    60gr ~ 2900 fps

I would not expect it to be a barrel burner. I have a 6mm-284 for that.

    Awesome looking build!

What do you plan to do with the rifle?

Thank you. The rifle will be used strictly for benchrest shooting. I believe the caliber would be suitable for small whitetails if in a light rifle like a hog hunter.

    Nice build.
I built mine back in 2011, 24"bbl, 1/10" twist for coyote/antelope out here, been a great rig to 700 yards.
You should get the 60s at least 3000 fps. I run a 58g VM at 3200 fps and the 70g NBT at 3011 fps.
My 95g antelope load runs at 2500 fps & 85g loads at 2700.
That rig would be good for p-dogs easy.

Sounds like the round is just a little behind the 6PPC in both velocity and accuracy, is that what you're finding?

5spd would probably be better at answering your question. I have less than 30 rounds downrange and have just begun load development.
The reasons I chose the 6X45 is availability of brass and ease of converting from 223 to 6mm neck. Also mag feed is without problems.

Ive never shot a 6ppc so I have no idea what the speeds run with the same bullets.
The 6ppc would be more accurate as it was made for bench shooting.
I swapped my heavy varmint barrel out for a BHW P3 1/10" twist heavy sporter bbl, 22" long 4 months ago and now the 65g vmax spits out at at 3271 fps and the 55g varmageddon at 3329 fps with the same loads I was running in the McGowan varmint barrel 24" bbl.
This barrel prints both those right at .307" at 100 yds and at 200 yards they both ran .700" to .717", so Im happy with the swap and a bit lighter as its my coyote/antelope rig.

Go back in time and you will find the 6x47 was a popular benchrest cartridge. Remington even chambered their 40x rifle for it.
At that time the 222 case was necked up to 6mm. The PPC cartridge was created by 2 shooters with names of Pindell and Palmisano.
Within a very short period of time all the other then popular benchrest cartridges were obsolete. There were 2 versions, a 22 and a 6mm.

Not knocking your right to hunt with whatever is legal but I have hunted antelope for 50 years and never known anyone to use such an anemic cartridge for that purpose. I am sure open to learning something new so can you maybe list your reasons for using it. I am not trolling you , it just doesn't make any sense, to me at least.
