    not really a build....

    more like an over haul.

    300wm yesterday...

    260 remington this morning....

im thinking that i should be able to get a 308 follower and spring put it in the 300 mag add a spacer in the back and it should feed...this is a 260(308 case)in the 300wm magazine with nothing done to it...the mag holds the case and feeds one at a time with no issues...

i dont shoot the 300 much anymore and had a shilen select match barrel in my safe(2800 rounds through it but was still VERY accurate when pulled)so i called PTG and ordered a LA 308 bolt head(fits like a glove)and put it all together this morning.the barrel is short on freebore so im going to try some 123g Amaxes and see how they shoot today...IF IT STOPS RAINING LOL!!

no AI for me..i dont really see a big enough difference to warrant buying new dies plus its just a barrel and bolt head swap and its a 300WM again. i may put my other 260 barrel on this action as i had it chamber with about .195 free bore and i have to feed the short action bullet first or it gets hung up some times if im not careful...if i do put the other 260 barrel on this action then i have a reason to buy a 6x47 lapua barrel.

well it stopped raining shortly after i posted this thread so i got out and shot the rounds i had loaded up and im pretty happy with how well it shot...plus i love when you stumble right on to a bug hole load.

first group after 8 rounds to rezero and foul the barrel...

    second group....

    third group....

and ya gotta love the 4th group....im not sure if the high left was me or the wind...

5th group...pretty sure this was the wind...it was blowing pretty good and switching faster than i could load...

last group...and as i was packing up the wind died LOL...i may go back out and verify the 44.5g and 45g loads as im going to shoot this in our match tomorrow with NO hard dopes...should be interesting...

Yea I wasn't reading the #'s and 44.5 looked like there was one high right cut off by edge of the photo.

Great looking stick and good shooting! Pretty awesome to be able to pull a barrel out of the safe and within an hour be all ready to rock n roll with a different caliber. Just curious... what chassis is that you are running?

the one that was high right was from rezeroing....i had to come down 11 1/4MOA and 2 1/4MOA left from the 300wm zero...the 44.5g load is five rounds 4 in the one hole and then the 5th is high left and like i said im not sure if i pulled that shot or if it was the wind...most likely me as i get a little excited when i see groups like that the first time out.

its the factory 110BA stock...i guess their called accuestocks....i just replaced the tacicool base with a murphy precision base and had a guy here local cerakote it,next time i put a new barrel on it ill have him finish it.

Thats a pretty awesome cerakote job! Really looks more like one of the XLR or other chassis systems out there than the factory "chassis" on the BA. Obviously it shoots as good as it looks too.

Well i shot this riffle in our long range varmint match today and was happy with how it shot.
The wind was crazy today...normally it blows pretty steady from about 90* left or right....today it was blowing from every direction and was changing faster than you could cycle the bolt. The highest score today was 24 so the wind was kickin everyones a$$....i shot an 18...i was over holding for wind thinking the 123s were going to drift more my first string and my 550 and 650 dopes were off but the wind may have been a big part of that. All in all a good day for something i threw together and shot 38 rounds through yesterday...ill shoot some RL-17 tomorrow morning and report back.

I have 3 - 110 long actions, one in 300 win mag and 2 others in a 7mm08. I like using long actions on short action ammo. I don't like have a problem loading long to the lands where they don't fit in a short action mag.
