Timed and Trued PTA inspection question

I'm going to go look at a rifle with a PTA that may have been timed and trued. The current owner did not have the work done. Is there a way to visually inspect the action to confirm or deny if it's had any work done?

If Fred (Sharp Shooter Supply) did it, you'll know when you work it.

He might be able to give you more "tells".

Look at the bolt head, locking lugs, action face, sear, and cocking ramp. It should be obvious if any work has been done to it. Whether that work was a T&T job or not is another question.

After verifying the gun is empty, pull the trigger to decock the bolt. Then work the bolt as you normally would to load another round and pay specific attention to how difficult/hard/stiff the resistance is to lifting the bolt. If it's been T&T'd the effort required to cock it will be about 1/3 what a non-T&T'd bolt requires. It really shouldn't require much more effort than working the bolt with the firing pin already cocked. If you have to grunt and groan to cycle the bolt to cock it (like most Savage's) then it hasn't been T&T'd.
