    comprehensive hog hunter DBM guide

I would like to make a comprehensive thread that covers various Detachable Box Magazine (DBM) conversion prices, pros and cons, tips and techniques, whether it be chasis systems, inletting oem or aftermaket stocks, CDI DBM, factory savage parts or any other variance and see if i can make it a sticky for all of us Hog Hunter owners looking to do this. I know all this info is scattered throughout the threads but i believe it would be nice to have a centralized thread that covers all the avenues possible. Thanks in advance for your participation. I will try to start us off.

http://www.cdiprecisiongunworks.com/ offers a full service conversion, which at the moment(3-2015) are doing free inletting and even complete installation services with the purchase of a DBM.
    $209 DBM

    5 Round 308 Magazine $75

    10 Round 308 Magazine $80

    10 round 223 Magazine $40

Pros: Can be a one stop shop for your conversion. Just send them the stock of your choice and your barreled action.

Cons: Very expensive, can be done much cheaper i.e; the cost of the service including the price of the Bell and Carlson Medalist I looked at was close to $600

To convert a Hog Hunter to Savage factory DBM, you will need the following parts:

    Steel DBM: 106238
    Steel Triggerguard: 105417
    Steel magazine floorplate: 106245

Install the steel floorplate on the mag well/follower that comes with the rifle and you'll have a complete 4rd magazine.

It does if you use an AICS-compatable DBM system, such as those made by CDI Precision, Accurate Mag, or PTG.

...but you gotta have the proper stock inlet for either of those...

Savage factory DBM uses Savage factory DBM magazines.

    Bump.

Willy, great idea for a thread. I have a Hog Hunter on order and plan to make this mod.
