Savage 220f to fill the clip ..or not

I have read on a couple forums that if you only put one shell in the Savage 220F clip, vs filling it with two, it reduces the possibility of cycling and ejection issues. Does anybody subscribe to this theory or is full clip not an issue? I will be purchasing a 220 soon ... so I'm just doing my homework first.

I got mine a couple of months ago, shot a few rounds to sight in and then a few extra. Sometimes I put 1 in the barrel and 2 in the clip and sometimes just 2 in the clip, always cycled and ejected great !
