    CBI 300WM Match 28" barrel

Anyone shooting a CBI 300WM match barrel?

I got some impressive numbers out of a 28" BBI match barrel and I'm curious how it compares.

What sort of FPS are you guys getting with 190 grain match bullets in the 300WM? These where old Winchester 190 grain match bullets. Look just like the Sierra 190s.

I was pushing them to 3250 FPS loaded long at 3.50" COL at 10 thou off the lands with RL-22. The CBI Match camber has a good amount of free bore for loading the big bullets. According to my quickload program and the primer indications I still had 3.5 more grains worth of pressure to go, I believe it as the pressures indications where pretty minimal. At a estimated max load I would guess potential velocity in the neighborhood of 3400FPS! Depending on the accuracy of the quickload predictions I was getting 225fps more then it calculated for my loads.

Before anyone calls BS I got the barrel Black Nitride processed and I'm wondering if I have gained substantial FPS???? I was not smart enough to get FPS results before I sent the barrel in. I actually tried but it was too dark outside.

    Thanks

I have the 28" 300 WM from CBI, but I only run 168gr HPBT/Amax and they're coming out at 3100 fps with a max load of 4831SC. I've got some Lake City 190gr MK's, but haven't had a chance to chrono them yet

I have a 28" threaded CBI barrel. I haven't had opportunity to shoot the rifle that much, but I do plan on getting some velocity numbers for it. I shoot 208gr Amax bullets using Retumbo powder.

How does the match chamber shoot with factory loads? Just curious if that much freebore would affect accuracy with short factory loads.

    Hi,
Curious with that barrel/chamber how close to the lands you can seat the 208 AMAX and what your OAL is? Do you have the regular chamber or match chamber? Thinking of getting one of these barrels but also want to shoot the 208 AMAX close to the lands at 3.490 OAL.
