223 bolt face in a 110 long action

Considering a new caliber in my target rig. It is a 110 long action currently shooter a 6mm BR. I am thinking of getting a new caliber. The new caliber will probably be based off a small 223 /.378 bolt face. Can a small face bolt head fit a long action bolt? Right now I cant make up my mind between 17 fireball or 20 Vartag. but that decision will be a few weeks off. Can anyone comment on which choice based an experience with both. Thanks for your help.

Yes you can get (hard to find original parts tho) a bolthead for a long action with a .378 bolt face. Check with PTG. May have to special order but not a big deal. They are like any other long action bolthead and have a long tail.

PTG can make you one, or you can use a short action .378 bolt face if you get a firing pin stop nut (I think that's what it is called) from SSS.
