    Duracoating boyds tacticool

A little advice on painting/duracoat Boyd tacticool. Do I need to sand down to bare wood or is roughing up the surface good enough? I Don't want to do all that work and the chemicals not mix and my base coat end up melting off

Rough up the surface and clean/degrease good with solvent. I use acetone. Use 2 to 3 coats of Duracoat to get a good base. I've never had it come off or chip.
