Anyone with experience with Hornady's 150gr SST (300 Savage) in Savage Model 99

I purchased my first Savage 99EG in .300 Savage about a month ago. I'm thinking about trying reloads with Hornady's 150gr SST (300 Savage) #30303.

Before I purchase these bullets, does anyone have actual reloading data/groups/chrono etc. and whitetail results with this newer Hornady 150gr SST (300 Savage), #30303, bullet? The bullet was specially designed for the 300 Savage.

Try Hornady for the data.. If they recommend it great. If it can be done they will know.

Another approach-Sierra Bulletsmiths-have an 800 # and will answer questions about loading--anything/brand..

Yup,
I have reloaded some for my 99.
42.5 grain IMR 4064 win primers shoots 2500 fps at muzzle, with my chrony.
Extracts easy, no pressure signs, although I have not shot any rounds in temps above 70 degrees.
Shoots good out of MY 99 with 1 1/2" groups of 3 shots off sand bags, with a redfield receiver peep - no scope.
FYI They are a boat tail bullet.
I have them seated to the cannalure, this way, I have as much of the bullet as possible in contact with the 300's short neck, with the boat tail in the case below the neck, I would like to have them seated farther out, to get closer to the lands, but the rotary mag will only allow so much, and I want a full contact of bullet with the neck, again with the 300's short neck.
Hornady says the 300 savage sst has a thinner jacket to allow better mushrooming, on game performance, with the 300 savages slower velocities than say the 308 win, 30-06 ect.

I am undecided as if I will purchase more of these in the future, I think a good old Sierra 150 grn pro hunter, or another "flat base" bullet, would work as well, but would give me the option of seating out farther ?
I have not shot anything other than paper, they shoot nice, seem to be accurate enough.

I have no load data for the .300 Savage.
I do have experience with a 150 gr .30 caliber SST in a .30-06. Took a 190# buck with a shot essentially in his armpit at 130yds. He was turning away quickly, so it was basically a quartering away shot. The bullet jacket and core separated on impact with lots of fragmentation. The jacket ended up just under the skin on the off shoulder. The core somehow turned and traveled up through the neck, eventually breaking the spine just below the head. Needless to say, the deer dropped in its tracks. But, it's of note that there was no exit wound and no bleeding through the entrance wound. Had the spine not been broken, and the deer run off any distance, it would have almost certainly been lost. But of course this is a moot point, because it dropped as if struck by lightning.
Just be aware that this is a highly "explosive" bullet.

For those of you interested in loading for the 300 Savage here is a picture of a factory Remington 300 Savage 150gr corelokt on the left with Hornady's SST 150gr Savage 300 bullet on the right. The bullet is 1.12" long and looks like it is going to load to an OAL of 2.60 w/o issue. I have not loaded any rounds yet. I will update here once I've done that and sent a few rounds across my chrono.
