Pelts still Good?

What's the latest date, (In Your Area) that pelts are still prime (coyote)?

In eastern montana, around the end of Feb to early march

close to the same time here too, I was just wondering if pelts were dependant on temp., length of day, or other factors.....

I've shot some really nice heavy coated dogs in April here. It actually seems like the later season dogs have paler coats...maybe sun bleaching? I don't know. I live at 8000' feet and I'm sure these dogs are well-adapted to this elevation. It's mid-May and we keep getting snowed on. We picked up 85" of snow during April so you can imagine those dogs holding on to that fur of theirs.
