    Interesting tidbits...

We all know that variety is a good thing, but I think Savage Arms has taken it a bit to the extreme the last few decades.

Over the course of roughly 18-20 hours in the past two days I went through all 57 Savage Arms catalogs (54 actually as I'm missing 1964, 1984 and 1986) making two all-encompassing spreadsheets on Savage 110-series firearms. The first is a complete list of each and every cataloged model they have ever made and what years they were offered. The second is a complete list of each and every cartridge they chambered 110's in and what years those cartridges were offered.

Regarding the number of models being offered, here's a startling realization regarding the number of variants offered over the years.

    1958-1988 = 42 different models
    1989-1998 = 84 different models
    1999-2008 = 163 different models
    2009-present = 150 different models

    Regarding cartridges...

    1958-1988 = 15 cartridges
    1989-1998 = 17 cartridges
    1999-2008 = 28 cartridges
    2009-present = 27 cartridges

Yet they get rid of the .250 Savage. Nothing spices up my life more than that sweet little cartridge right there.

They should also offer faster twists on their .223s and .243s!

1-7" and 1-9" twists aren't fast enough for ya in the .223's?

Believe the 7 twist is only available in the Model 12 LRPV.
