Savage 11VT with axis style bolt

I just pulled the bolt apart on my 11vt and was quite surprised at the piece that came out. After a bit of research it appears to be the same set up as the axis, and apparently the spring is supposed to be in three pieces. Does anyone know is you can simply replace these parts with the normal 11 style parts? Any other info would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Charlie

Yes, you can swap the internals to the older style firing pin assembly.
