    Trigger issues

I have a top bolt release Stevens 200 action based build; I am using a SAV-2 trigger/ The sear is not resetting unless I lift up on the bolt release after I lift the bolt. Any ideas as to what caused this? It was working fine, this is a recent development.

    Thanks
    Bill

I think so, that is the one that is parallel to the triggers direction of travel just above the trigger itself, right? I tried it tighter and looser with no help.

Remove the action from the stock and see if the problem persists, the sear may be making contact with the stock.

SAV 2 trigger stop, try backing off trigger stop screw, it maybe interfering with trigger resetting.

Holding the rifle horizontal upright the sear needs to be contacting the the trigger. If you can see light between them, the spring is set too soft. It should require a very slight effort to seperate the two. Otherwise there is a chance of bump or slamfire

Thanks guys. I have been sure to keep enough pressure on the sear to avoid slam fire. Ill try the trigger stop screw today.

The owner of rifle basix can probably talk you through it. He is a great guy. Are you sure the sear spring is in correctly. When you install it, it should be under a lot of tension as you are putting it back in. If it goes in easy something is wrong.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
