I've got a tad of experince shooting the BHW Savage barrels as I am on their Pro Staff. Groupings have been outstanding and the barrels are easy to clean. The true polygonal rifling gives lowered pressure and faster velocities than standard rifling. They are expanding their chambering chocies quite a bit. They just added the 6MM Creed the other day due to customer demand. They've been doing the 6.5C for quite a while now and have gotten great feedback.
I've bben shooting a 260 Remington and justtheother day swapped it fro a 243 LBC. Brass is processing as I type this and I hope to shoot it in a 500 yard match come March. I believe Ritch has a posting on his 243 LBC over in the wildcat area.

I was looking at the BHW site the other day. The barrels seem really good, and for a good price. I found a few disappointments (for my needs, just my opinion) though, namely 24" being the longest barrel length and having to choose either muzzle threading or a target crown; can't have both. Perhaps the website is out of date, I don't know.

I also wished they offered longer than 24" barrels, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I do like that they do not charge additional for threaded barrels. I need threaded barrels as I would be using suppressor.
I have been wanting a 260 for quite some time, but I'm also thinking about 6.5x47Lapua. Seems that the 6.5x47Lapua may have slightly better barrel life compared to 260. Only thing is I already have 308 GO/NO Go gauges, so I wouldn't need to purchase if I went with 260. The 6.5x47Lapua gauge seems to be harder to locate.
Call and ask. They cut me a 26 inch large shank .260 threaded for my suppressor mount.

This is one that Ritch shot at a turkey shoot last Fall. 243 LBC and a 95 grain SMK. 5 shots 100 yards.
Nice group.........What does the LBC stand for on their calibers. I looked thru their website and could not find an explanation for that anywhere.

Les Baer Custom. He took the 6.5 Grendel chamber and tweaked the neck diameter about 0.002 doing away with te\he compound throat of the G.. That is the ONLY one he actually did though he did submit reamer prints for one to be ground that was never done. The 243 LBC is out there under various names with minor variation in chamber/throat diminsions. Ritch swung the shoulder differently than the others and their is a skosh more capacity. BHW has done them in 243, 223 and 20 using only a straight neck down approach. Originally set up in AR's they shoot well and once the Savage barrels started being turned up well turned into super.

What is the backlog at BHW? Can you get a barrel in less than 2 months?

On another forum, I saw the leadtime is somewhere around 8-12 weeks is what someone said they were told by BHW.
Current delivery is 6-8 weeks. It can vary a bit if you want fluting or cerrakote. They got a large bunch of orders at SHOT so that is keeping them running hard but the barrels are flowing and shooting nicely. The good thing is they do the entire barrel from bar stock to out the door save the coating processes.

Greg is correct, their SHOT sale with 20% off creates a pretty good backlog that takes them until late March/early April to catch up on.
My 22/6.8 barrel was ordered last year during the sale and it was ready for pick-up on April 4th.

My buddy has a 20" 20 practical and it shoots lights out. Its a true .5 moa or better. I have a 204 ruger on order.
