Savage 11VT stock swap possible with a new bottom metal?

    Hello,

I picked up a 11VT from Dick's in 243 win for my wife. I got around to taking a torque wrench to it and noticed the third action screw is stripped out from the factory! This is the one closest to your shoulder if you were aiming.

Anyway, I would like to change the stock and replace the bottom metal to take a tactical box magazine with 9 or 10 rounds. Would this be possible? I found a website that sells extended axis style mags like this rifle has but I would rather change it out completely. The only stock I have seen on here that fit was a B&C but the guy had to convert to a blind magazine, which I'd rather not do.

Also, what is the screw spacing for the action? I took my calipers to it but I am not sure what the measure off of.

    Thanks guys.

The stripped screw is not an action screw, it is only there to hold the trigger guard on.
Screw spacing is measured from center of screw just ahead of trigger to center of furthest up fore end, should be about 4.4.
