Fixed power scope for F-Class shooting

Settled on my F/TR optic, but I need something for my open class rifle.

I can pick up a new Weaver T36 on the cheap just to get me started.

Any detriments going with a fixed power optic?

    TIA

Biggest drawback is not being able to reduce power when the mirage is bad. May depend on how bad it gets where you shoot.

Are you comfortable spending the money for this scope if you really plan on replacing it in the near future?

What scope will you be using for F/TR? It may be best to use the same scope and reticle for both.
