New guy in La$ Vega$

Hi all,
I got a new Savage Mark II BTVS for Christmas. I have owned firearms since I was a kid and believe it or not, this is my first .22 cal and first brand new gun since 1970. I read good things about the Mark II but unfortunately I had to immediately return it to Savage after firing it the very first time. I hope Savage is a stand-up company and either repairs or replaces it soon. I joined so I can learn how to get the most accuracy out of the Mark II after I get it back. I also realized I own a couple of Savage Arms guns even though I didn't think of them as such. I have a Lee Enfield No4 MkI* made by Savage and a sweet little Fox B-SE side by side in .410. There's a lot of good information to gather here.
