    Trigger and Bolt Knob Choices

I was looking at getting an after market trigger, looking into Rifle Basix and Timney. Anyone have any experience or other recommendations?

Also looking at tactical bolt knobs. I saw Apache Gun Works makes some. Anyone use this or recommend a bolt know?

    Thanks!

I've been using Rifle basix SAV-1's in all my savages and like the way they perform. Easy to install and tune for sure. I've also threaded my own factory bolt one time and installed a knob of choice, but decided to go with the Glades Armory knob on my last builds and really liked them as well.

I used a SAV-2 trigger and a Glades Armory bolt handle. The SAV-2 trigger was easy to set up and is a pleasure to shoot. I have never used a SAV-1 but they are popular here. The Glades handle is really nice.

Sav-1 is a direct replacement for factory trigger pretuned for smoother operation. SAV-2 is a whole new trigger housing and higher end trigger for more serious target work and capable of being set in the oz realm of pull weight.

I have a Sav 2 and it is the best trigger I have. Bolt handles, check out the ones by Boots McGuire on Apache's pace. They are good. Also SSS and stock large savage handles help a lot.

This is just a hunting rig, not a target shooter. Will the Basix Sav-1 work well?

Yep, it can easily be set in that 2.5-3lbs range and break cleaner than the factory.

Are the Apache ones nice? For the price they seem awesome but they just look huge.

I have a sav-1 on my Axis, The sav-2 as I understand it will not work with my rifle. Was one of the best mods I did.

Just finished installing the Rifle Basix Sav-1 trigger. it took about 20 minutes for installation and adjusting and I'm liking it so far. It breaks very easily and adjusting it is a snap.

    Apachee trigger kit for rimfire

I just installed this kit in my wife's BTVSS .17HMR. it's the mutt's nuts. HUGE improvement in pull weight and lack of creep compared to the stock Accutrigger. well worth the $58 price, imho. i polished the sear surfaces as well. most importantly, she likes it.
