    PTG repalcement bolts

Had the opportunity to shoot an acquaintances' 6 x 47 in a Stolle Panda Action today and all I can say is it was smoother than silk when you opened or closed the bolt. I currently have a Savage Dual Port Target Action that was timed and trued by SSS and while Fred's' work is impeccable he cant be work miracles in the fact that Savages' bolts feel sloppy. I've read that PTG (Pacific Tool and Gage) makes replacement bolts that are several thousands larger in diameter so as to take up that extra clearance. So having said that has anyone here replaced their factory bolt body with one from PTG and what were your results ?? Besides purchasing the bolt body what if anything needs to be done to it besides exchanging all of the other components ??

Don't let grit or dust get in one of those bolts. They just grind then.

Fine for a dedicated bench rifle.
