I would go for a used higher end barrel rather than a new Shaw, they are good barrels just not target barrels, and the 6.5x47 with it,s small case capacity, they are not hard on throats.

considering the making of one of these for target rifle..Build on
savage 110 action..Need to decide on barrel weight..
Do you think a heavy varmint or bull barrel.....in 8 twist of course..

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
I'd go with the heavy varmint at 26 inches, 1/8" twist.
