    6.5x47L

Managed to get some 140gr JLK's, what powder and starting load do you think I should start with. I have 130's on order, but they will be awhile.

    28" 1/8" twist McGowen barrel

    Later,

6.5x47Lapua must be a bad word or something! It's a great gun, I love mine, but very hard to find any load info on.

Hi Dennis, been wanting to build a 6.5X47 or 6mmx47 myself. checking around for load info found some pretty good info @ 6mm BR.com click GUNS OF THE WEEK then check out week # 85,84,81,79,&72. Also info at 6MM hot.com Don't know how up to date some of this info is but couldn't be a bad place to start. Good luck! Hope this helps some.

here are some loads for ya. Just cross reference these loads with those you'll find in a manual, if you can find a manual with 6.5x47L in it.

They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Dennis, Is this a great web-site or what? Where else can you find 6X47L load data @ one o'clock in the morning? Check the times on the above posts. When in doubt NOODLE ! :D

I emailed Walt Berger (Berger Bullets), he was kind enough to share his data on the 6.5x47L with me.... Data included his 120gr, 130gr, 140gr. I'll email him again and see if it's OK to post the data, It was generated using Quick Load and a 24" barrel.... Does anyone want it?
So far it's been right on, I'm getting a little more velocity, but I have a 28" barrel..... I've also used one box of Sierra 120's with the data and had nice groups....

    Deserthunter, PM sent

As stated before, I think you and I both finish our 6.5x47's (28" barrels) about the same time. So I am very interested in your findings, and I will share mine with you!
