Nope, because I have very little patience finding how to work something. I got back in and figured how to post pictures. What frustrated me most though is that I still do not know how to delete a post I do not want to stay up. Of course, now that I posted the pics I wanted I do not have to delete the post...but I still need to know how...got any hints?

Plus I had a death in the family, (my lil Brother) and I have been in a really down mood. I apologize for snotting off without explaining.

I had excellent results first time I took it to the range. Even though the temps were in the high 80s and little breeze, the heavy barrel did not overheat and I got some good (for me) shooting in. But I could not find the targets I saved on my computer of the best groups. Looks like I will have to do it over sometime.

I love the rifle and the versatility of the .308 round. I have some 125 gr Speer TNT HPs to work up and if i can get some good enough groups for coyotes out to 250 yards, not that I will ever need to shoot that far...I will be satisfied. I want to compare groups at 100 yards for the Speer 125s, Win 180 FMJ, Win? 147 FMJ and Speer150 PSP. If they are ok elevation wise and ok windage wise I will pick the MOST accurate and MOST reliable load and zero to that. Then keeping notes on the other groups I will just use field notes for aiming when using the other ammo.

I don't shoot the FMJ bullets (I load ALL my ammo) much but it was cheap and plentiful. I can practice with that and break the barrel in and not waste the performance quality stuff.

Hombre, I am sorry for your loss. I am sure we all are.

I have trouble posting pics, too.

    Hang in there, please.

Finally some pics...poor, but the best I have at present

OK, I bit the bullet and got into the PhotoBucket. I could only find 3 pics that pertain to the Savage 11 VT. The targets are basically the same one but measured 2 times. They are almost identical but one scored a bit better than the other. Take your pick. The rifle photo is from the day I bought it and attached the bipod and shot the photo at my storage area. It was the best place... More space and more light. I will get some better targets when I get to the range, or find the other scored targets.

Those targets are the 3 inch spots on the corners of larger targets. I impressed myself that I actually hit the spot. I tested 5 loads and had some great groups but I can't find them...yet.

Now that I know how to do Photo Bucket I will post more.

    (Actual size Spot.)

I found some more targets I shot while I was working up some loads for the .308. These are 50 yard targets. I was loading Winchester 180 gr SP over 43.0 to 45? gr of IMR 4064. I had some recycled Lake City brass so I used some cheap bullets to fire form them, then i neck sized them and loaded for sighting in and load workup.
    Here is what I got:43.0; 43.5; 44.0; 44.0 gr IMR 4064.

Hitting 1.5 MOA with a .308 is always always impressive. Good shooting as far as I am concerned!

Here's a pick of typical 100 yd 5-round group from hand loads through my .308 11VT. This is 42.8 gr IMR 4064 under 168gr SMK in Hornady match case using winchester LR primers.

Rifle is completely stock with a Millet 4-16x50 scope.

Mine is not quite there yet but I used the same powder amount with 180 gr Win psp and got a 3 shot group that was very good for me. New rifle first time out...I likee.

Shoot the 44 gr again a couple times. Then try adjusting the COL.

Nice...and good shootin. I have never been a target shooter. Only in the last 5 years have I been active in bench shooting and paper targets. Not competition, just informal target shooting at the range. I never fired more than a few hundred rounds of anything...shotgun or rifle per season when hunting. Now I shoot that many at one setting. I need a lot of practice to shoot groups like yours. But my MVP Varmint 5.56 is showing possibilities in that direction.

My main passion is shootin steel. I placed 1st in my Division, and 4th Overall at my last match. I had actually just worked up a new load for it on Friday, and tried it out early on Saturday morning before the match. Made my corrections to my data since my chrono lied to me, and found my true velocity. I honestly believe that I made it to the 2nd place score, but there was a target where my score didn't get documented. Oh well, I was still pretty pleased on the day!!

I mostly shoot competitions, just to challenge myself and my gear. Shooting keeps me off the couch... the shrink's couch that is!! LOL
