    finally finished, for now. lol

Here she is, axis 223 bull barrel, boyds pro varmint stock and glades armoury bolt handle. I had to sand a bunch out of the barrel channel to accommodate the bull barrel, any special paint i should use so its not raw wood under the barrel? Range day tomorrow, i cant wait.

Nice! How does the bolt handle work for extracting fired cases? I see Glades Armory says they've had reports that it works, but it's evidently one of those theory vs. practice thing.

I am doing a build off of an axis and wanted to ask about your stock.

You mention a bull barrel, what is the diameter of the barrel? I am looking at a 1" bull barrel from Shilen, and had my doubts about whether the Pro Varmint stock would have enough room to hollow out for a true 1" barrel. At the moment, I have found a company (MDT) making a chassis for the Axis, but I am still debating the chassis versus true stock. I have not had any luck getting an answer from Boyd's on the matter, so figured I would drop a note here.

    Thanks.

It does. I've opened up almost all of Pro Varmint and Tacticools for varmint barrels (~0.8-0.9" at the muzzle), and there is plenty of real estate on the top rails to go all the way up to 1" and still be generously free floated.
