Hi Guys from the Land DownUnder.

I'm in Australia ( the land of darkness)
I have had a Savage model 1909 round barrel 22 pump in my gun safe for over 50 years without a breech block. It's in very poor condition.
I now have the time and inclination to try to make a breech block and I have a lathe and small mill and a lifetime of toolmaking knowledge.
I have searched the web looking for sufficient details to reverse engineer one with little success.
I wonder if any of you might be kind enough to photograph a breech block (side front end and plan views and preferably with the firing pin removed please. Of course that is, if you have access to one. Of course drawings or dimensions or real exploded view drawings would be even better but I can't expect too much.
Thank you in anticipation.
DETAILS : its stamped Model 1909 and the serial number is 110976A.
The wood is in fair condition but the steel has a thin coat of rust all over the outside.
The barrel still has rifling but I suspect its pitted.
Thanks in anticipation
regards
Brian
