I epoxied a piece of 3/8"x3/8" steel key stock in the square channel of the forend. I had to grind down the end toward the butt to make sure it would fit under the recoil lug, then I heated it and melted it into the plastic recoil block. I also epoxied a piece of 1/8"x1" aluminun strap onto the sides of the magazine well. I glass bedded the action after that and was satisified with the result.
Bondo, epoxy, some pvc pipe, a little balsa wood for filler, some pour-stone, and I made it into a 14.5# ground squirrel shooter. Does it work? Sure. And, if money were no object, I'd probably have an SSS LVT. It was a good learning experience.
