    22-250 barrel ?


    wanting to make a 22-250 rig...would I be better off getting a shaw
    drop in barrel in 12 or 14 twist....Or place an ad to buy a used one
    on here...Prefer heavy varmint if possible....Figured for nothing over
    300 yards,the 12-14 twist is all I need..Thanks...Bubby

    12 twist will do pretty much anything most people want to do with the 22-250 case. It is also the standard factory twist that Savage uses for it.

    Personally I would either get a lightly used one from the classifieds here, or I'd order one from Jim at www.apachegunworks.com For the money you will get a much better barrel at a good price and probably quicker than ordering from most places (unless they just happen to have exactly what you want on the shelf).

    Jim also knows a lot about barrel selection. If you email him he will give great information so you can make up your mind.
