    savage 220 forend fitting


    Help! I need help with fitting a forend. I have a problem in getting it just right. Anyone have the secret. Thanks in advance Jted

    Is it popping off when you push it on?

    yes, it pops off when it is fired. I think it should snap on with more authority. Thanks Jted

    Yep, had one like that and had spare parts so I just swapped the springs out and it worked.

    Was thinking about it afterwards and I think just bending that spring either up or down would either make it a tighter fit or loosen it.

    It's a 50 50 chance but something I'd try before ordering or trying to find another one.

    There is a triangle tab just forward of the spring I adjusted that to tighten up 2 new forarm irons and one old 22 hornet forarm that I put on a 20 ga It fit well with no other fitting required. It seems the barrel lug touches the tab. I tried to post a picture but could not figure it out With out making all my pictures public.
