converting stevens model 200 to a hinge plate or DBM

Hey guys I'm building my stevens 200 into a long range hunting platform and I would like to change it from a blind magazine to a hinge bottom plate or a detachable bottom magazine and was woundering what parts I would need and then what stock I would order since the 200 doesn't have any other options for a magazine besides the blind magazine.

You don't mention if you have a Long or Short Action, or which magazine type you have. I am going to assume you have a centerfeed type magazine. All you would need is the bottom metal for which ever length action you have, a magazine floor plate (since you already have the mag body and follower), and a DBM stock for your action length. Tell us exactly what action you have and chambering you wish to use and I'll see if I can hunt up the part numbers for you.

Sorry it's a long action, it's chambered in 7mm rem mag. And I'm not 100% sure but I think it is a center feed.

If all that is the case, then my above post is correct. Get LA bottom metal, mag plate, and a stock inlet for DBM and you are set to go.

Aren't blind mags stagger fed ? I was just wondering because I really don't know. If this is a fact then a hing plate would be my guess ? Also I've always wanted to run something like an AW mag which is, I believe, a stagger feed mag? I really don't know but would like info on this subject also!

Blind mags are available for SF and CF actions.

When you take the action out of the stock does the mag stay attached to the action or stay in the stock? Staggered feed stays with the action, center feed stays in the stock.Once you determine which type you have just call it a Savage 110 or which ever model Savage uses a long action DBM. Get that stock and mag. The only difference between the Savage and Stevens is the quality of the finish. Leo
