    Axis trigger

I have the stock off of an Axis to change the spring on the trigger. One question, is the bar that is fastened to the action and holds the trigger group supposed to be loose ? This gun was dropped from a tree stand and broke the stock at the grip. Any info would be appreciated I just want to make sure it is safe and nothing else is damaged besides the stock .

Yes, it is supposed to be loose. It will get solid when you tighten it down in the stock.

Thanks Fred I thought that was the case, but just wanted to make sure since it was dropped hard enough to brake the stock.

That does sound like a pretty hard drop, but as noted, it is normal. At the very least it doesn't speak well for the stock. Was it the factory plastic?

Did it break before or after you came tumbling down and landed on it? LOL

Seriously, that is disappointing to hear.

He was pulling it up into his tree stand and his rope came loose. He and his wife are fighting cancer and have had some rough times, so with the help of a fellow member here who donated the stock and paid the shipping we got it shooting again.
