Beautiful rifle sav250! I'm afraid it puts my plain Jane 93R17 GV to shame.
It's been a few years, okay, exactly in 2007, I bought this fine Savage rimfire.
Targets are shown with the loads I shot. Some targets are a bit wider than others but that was cured by a single dry swipe of a bore snake for .17 cal. rifle.
I'm a .22 WMR lover more than a .17 HMR rimfire thing I'll confess right now. I haven't changed my mind since 2007 about the HMR but will say I like it for specific reasons that make hunting easier and less ricochet sensitive. That's when there is my .17 HMR and it's in the Savage Classic.
Since then I've seen a lot of abuse about the Classic model in 93 as an attempt to make a sow's ear into a silk purse. Didn't matter to me because it was the only .17 HMR I ever invested in.
Since then I've never had a need for another .17 HMR. I've got my Savage.
Enjoy a fine tuned Savage without the tuning and think again about Savage Arms.

Very nice.
It's too bad they don't come with such a pretty stock these days - it really does give it that 'classic' look. Nice checkering and end cap.

Regardless of how you feel about the .17 HMR vs the .22 WMR, that is one fine looking rifle. Shoots good too.
