Hey, all,
I've been so pleased with my new Model 12 F-Class in 6.5/284 that I would like to build something similar with these characteristics:
• Savage Target Accutrigger (the red blade one) ... which I think requires a Model 12 action.
• Chambered for .300 WSM ... would like to reach out to 1000 on deer eventually, if the Indian can shoot the gun that far accurately.
• Heavy like my 12 F to reduce recoil, with a real heavy, long bull barrel.
• It would be nice if it was a repeater, but I guess if I use a Model 12 action, that's out...?
Can anyone give me any advice on this? Is there a Model 12 action available with a big enough bolt to accommodate the rim of .300 WSM?
Is there any economical way to make it a repeater?
Where might I find a drop-in barrel in 300 WSM?
I've heard that Savage will custom-build rifles at the factory ... is this true, and might they build something like this?
I'm just kicking the idea around at this point, but would much appreciate any advice.
Thanks in advance.

Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
Buy a used cheap model 10,11,14,or 16 in a WSM on gunbroker. They are out there. Replace the standard accutrigger spring with a target spring. Then you will have a great base for your build. You will already have the proper bolt face, firing pin, and magazine to make a repeater.
You can buy a Savage repeater with the target action and the red trigger. Just swap out the bolt head and barrel and you'll be good to go. Depending on what grain bullet you plan to use you might be better off with a long action though.
