Hang fires are ammo related. What is is doing exactly?

Could also need the firing pin, spring, and pin channel cleaned out if it is slow to hit the primer. If it is hitting and then going off it is likely like tomme boy said and is ammo related. If it is reloads they could be loaded with the powder density to low and your getting detonation instead of a rapid burn of the powder.
