    Old 110 missing parts.

I was the lucky winner of an auction and now own a very early 110 in 22-250. SN 58032.
It had no follower, spring or insert for floor plate. I can replace these parts, but what I'd really like to do is convert it to a removable magazine style. Can anyone tell me which other savage parts might be used to achieve this conversion?

I would love to see some photos of that one. I was not aware there was a 22-250 110 available at that serial number. Would speculate a rebarrel. That era 110 has the raised barrel boss for the rear sight on the rifles I have. My understanding is that Remington did not make the 22-250 a factory chambering until 1965. Let us know what you have there, I'm real curious, and WAY JEALOUS!.

Oh, yea. It has the 'dog nut' boss on the barrel. Blue on both the flat back receiver and barrel is really quite good. I'm waiting on parts from Numrich now, hoping they will solve the problem. I bought a new AXIS 22-250 at Wally World today just in case I can't get this old beauty working again. Now I'm looking for a high cap magazine for the AXIS. I watch a clip showing a new Boyd's stock and the guy had what looked like a 8 or 10 round clip, but he didn't say what it was or where it came from. I will take some photos of the 58032 in 22-250 and post them for you.

I am really looking forward to seeing that one. I have an extra cut checkered stock for a short action of that vintage I'm gripping like a madman thinking I'll come across the right project rifle.

I would put it back to stock. Savage doesn't make rifles like that anymore. You have a classic firearm. Hicap mags on a centerfire sporter barrel are not a good thing. Too much heat will be built up. Sporter barrels are made to fire cold. About all that needs doing is to pillar bed the receiver.
Mainly just get it shooting right. Congratulations on your new classic Savage.

    Trade it off?

Let's wait and see if the parts on order solve the current situation. I'll give you first opportunity if I decide to let it go.

That serial number puts the gun at 1965, unfortunately they never chambered them for 22-250 in 1965 so ya, rebarrel.

We're going to know more about this rifle shortly. It has the barrel boss for the rear sight, but no dovetail, and is not set up for sights. It has Savage markings on the barrel, but not sure which address, should be Westfield. Like I said, more to come.
